Welcome to the home of the Inverness Recreation Club Nessies Swim and Dive Teams!

The Nessies are a dual swim and dive team competing in the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) and Montgomery County Dive League (MCDL). Our mission is to create a fun and inclusive environment where our youth members (ages 4-18) can build strong bodies while building strong community bonds.  Participation in the Nessies is an excellent way for kids to get great exercise, build discipline, improve water skills, learn the value of competition and team-building, and have the best summer ever!  

Our professional coaching staff focuses on technical excellence in the pool including improving stroke technique and times while maintaining a fun and uplifting environment. Our coaches have a shared love for a sport in which everyone can be successful and meet personal goals. No matter how big or small your goals, the coaching staff is dedicated to helping you succeed.

We offer a Pre-team option for younger swimmers just getting started.  Pre-team is a group lesson program held in the shallow end of the pool with in-water coaching.  No previous swim experience or knowledge is required.  Pre-team swimmers participate in the swim team social activities and are invited to practice “competing” in a kickboard race at the beginning of Wednesday night B meets.  Pre-team is for ages 3 to 8, with most members in the 5-7 age range.
