Dear IRC Members and Member Families,
On behalf of the IRC Board of Directors, I’d like to welcome you into the upcoming 2021 season. While March might seem like a bit early to be extending this welcome, it’s not too early to offer insight into what we have been working on during the off-season in preparation for the upcoming season.
Welcome. By way of introduction, my name is Jay Pearson, and I’m serving as the IRC Board President this year. I’m surrounded by an experienced, dedicated and capable set of colleagues, and we have been meeting regularly to improve, and in some areas redefine, several aspects of club operations and membership benefits. My family have been members of IRC for almost 10 years now and like many of you, we have enjoyed watching our children grow and benefit from this club and what it offers socially and programmatically for them and the entire family.
Preparations. IRC was one of the few pools in the area to open safely during the pandemic with COVID-specific protocols and procedures and an easy-to-use member-facing swimming scheduler. Additionally, we enjoyed a healthy COVID-free track record. Not only that, but we were able to maintain a swim program and accommodated our diverse member base: single lap swimmers, families, adult and youth tennis players alike, and swim teams over the course of the season. Looking ahead toward this upcoming season, we are interested in hearing from you, our members, as we continue to build on a 40-year neighborhood legacy serving one of the friendliest communities in Montgomery County.
We are working closely with our pool management company to get ready for an on-time 2021 schedule that is compliant with State and County Health Codes. We are optimistic on the vaccine rollout and its positive impact on overall immunity rates within the community.
New for 2021. In other news, we are actively working to launch a new member portal, which will bring you flexibility, transparency and ease-of-use. We are going paperless! You will be able to join, renew, schedule and update your membership all within a secure online member portal– and even pay online! Our goal is to have it ready to accept member registrations the week of 4/1.
We are seeking your input and feedback and we are always looking for ideas to keep IRC safe, sustainable and steadfast in providing a healthful, family-friendly, swim & tennis experience. So please take a minute to complete this pre-season survey.
Thanks for Your Continued Support,
